87 f150 engine swap
I have a 2wd 87 f150 with the 300 I6 and a 4 speed manual. I also have a 400m and an NP435 out of a 78 f350. How much work would it take to swap the 400 for the I6, and would I be able to bolt it to the transmission already in there or would I have to swap transmissions as well? Thanks for your help.

You would need to swap transmissions as well. One of the big problems is that you are going from EFI to carb, and you'll have to do something with the fuel pump. The EFI fuel pump puts out about 60 psi, which is WAY too much for a carb.
The motor mounts and perches you can get from just about any junkyard or parts store, as the 400 (not the 400m
) was offered in early 80's F-series pickups.
