Can anyone recomend a rust preventative that I could use? I removed the right side door on my '72 for replacement and while the door was off I looked in the opening and saw a fair amount of surface rust in back of the kick panel and in the whole area back there which is hard to get to. I sand blasted most of the rust away and now I want to protect it before I put the door back on. Is there a good product on the market or a home brew that works well? I believe it will have to be sprayed on to get complete coverage. Thanks.
I had the bed off about a year ago and sandblasted the frame and painted it with POR-15. It works really good and I like it.
Last fall I had the engine out and steamed the engine bay, then painted it with POR-15. It looks good, but it doesn't seem to have adhered too well with the galvanized inner fender. Other than that its a great product. Maybe I should check out the catalog, they might have something to prep the galvanized to make it stick better...
