289 will it fit

Will a 289 with auto trans from a 1966 Falcon bolt into a 1973 F100 2wd. I have a 240 3 speed stick that I would like to convert to a small v8 automatic. What additional parts will I need to make this work

It will fit but you are going to need parts for a 302 anyway.

I don't know if the TRUCK 240 bellhousing will fit the 289.

Which 289 from 66 is it ?
There are 4 of them.

Engine Code C...

289 2v - 200 hp.

I wouldn't bother unless I had a 66 or 67 Mustang/Falcon/Fairlane/Comet that needed an engine.

I would move on and let the Mustang guys bid on it

Let people "Perserve the Stang"

The 300 I6 is the sister engine to the, 240 I6. The blocks are near identical, except for the obvious, cylinder bore, head, etc....
