I bought a new F-250 XLT in 2005 and was surprised it did not have remote entry. After checking prices, I went with a system from Circuit City <$150 installed.
I just purchased the remote door lock system from Ford. Trust me when I say this is anything but a plug & play item. The system comes with two modules, a wiring harness and no directions. I have found a digram on the web but I am tring to find out what the codes "RKE; VSS; RMST" mean and what is the differance. Any Ideas?
looks hard! it's just not that bad with the instructions and i'm sure you will do a better job then a dealers outside installer also with the correct modual that can be a remote start/ alarm unit
Ok I got the system in except I am missing one wire (white/black). The horn sounds and the parking lamps flash but no doorlock action. I going to assume that since the wire in question is not in the truck I have a non-RKE system.
Can anyone tell me what RKE stands for?
