Flashpaq questions

Got my flashpaq yesterday and I have a few questions:

There ain't much on the website.

Can someone explain the difference between peak and max hp gains? Looks like max would be the peak?

I assume that the economy tune is for max mpg but most posts here say that performance yields the best mpg. Why is that?

It appears that the performance tune has the most hp at low end, therefore shouldn't it have the least turbo lag?

What is the advantage of raising the rev limiter, if I am not into racing? Will it help with towing and everyday driving?

Should I enable the firmer transmission shift option for ALL of the tunes and leave it there? Will this protect the tranny better than stock?

Great questions. I've had mine for about 6 months and update it from the web site often. I have never seen an option for transmission shifts. The last update gave an option for data something or other. I'm not really sure which gives the best mileage but I would like to have the option to minimize the egr operation.

The Max HP gain references the highest difference between the stock & tuned horsepower curves anywhere in the RPM range.

The Peak HP gain reference the difference between the stock & tuned horsepower curve at the peak of said curve.

If you look under Options, you will see one for changing the transmission. You can only turn it on or off. You can't actually set your own pressures.

I update mine as well. The newest option is data logging. This lets you track your ET's for different length runs as well as maximum mph. Looks like something fun to play with...

I bought mine about four months ago. The trans shift problem still exists where it lags engaging either into drive or reverse. Also the low end lag is awful. The SC programmer I had for my o4 gave me lots of low end, but the flashpak I have for my 06 shifts at much higher rpm. Also my truck flattens out at about 95 mph. My salesman at four wheel parts in Orlando called SC while I stood there and they told him tough- they wouldn't take it back. Also when I call SC to ask about something I get the cold shoulder. I have the box and my sales person was just a pod as I was so he is going to return it anyway. I am going to buy a SCT instead. Yeh I know it's the same company, but it's a different division. Also their programmer has much better kudos from the people I know that have psd.

I have been getting lots of calls about the FlashPaq not loading or goofy tranny shift. I don't sell them so I send them over to another shop. That guy and I work together even though we sell different products. He says he is pulling his hair out with that new product. BTW he sells a ton of the regular products so it hasn't hurt his product loyalty.

Ranch,

You occasionally come in, post a few sentences with no specific information, then disappear.

Your posts come across as very random, and like you're trying to bash someone.

You aren't being very specific about where you are from or what interest you have in what product.....or even what you have to say.
