Dual tank problems

I've got all sorts of problems.

Then

When I bought the truck the front tank guage didn't work properly - it stayed on full until a few gallons remained and then floated between full and empty before settling on empty just before going dry.

The rear tank and guage worked but there was a leak at the top so I could only keep it half full.

I could switch between the two tanks.

Now-

Can't switch between the two tanks; regardless of the setting, I'm running on the front tank only.

Thanks, Dan

My truck used to do the same thing with the rear tank as your front. Then the pump went and I had to pull it. The float seemed to be a little sticky. I worked it a bit and when i put it back in it worked fine for me.

Do you hear anything in the rear tank when you turn the ignition? If not then you should check the wires. Then go to the fuel pump. I dont know if the fuel pump would show up on the codes but some one else can tell you that. If you are going to replace the pump though you should change the tank. You dont want crap falling down into the tank. It isnt good for the whole fuel system. Hope I was some help
