towing f150 ????

I'm planning on towing my truck the end of this month about 600 miles. I bought a tow bar and thats what i'll use. Anyway my question is should i disconnect the drive shaft or will it be fine to leave the tranfer in Neutral?

Thanks for the help, jake

You can't remove the rear driveshaft because you'll loose all the fluid in the transfer case. Just shift it into neutral, or rent wheel dollies.

I would cover the tranfer and tape it so i wouldnt lose all the fluid. Its too wide for anything that i have looked in to renting as far as dollies. Along with the fact that its about 750lbs to heavy for a car trailer.

I would definitely disconnect the driveshaft. You could leave it in the transfer case and just tie up the other end to the chassis or the bottom of the bed.

If it is a stick, you can just put transmit ion & transfer case in neutral and go. If it is an automatic, pull the drive shaft. And put transfer case in neutral.

At that distance, it would be wise to disconnect the driveshaft whether it is automatic or manual.
