Very frustrating issue
2002 F150 FX4
Got home from the lake yesterday and backed the boat into the shop. Unhooked and pulled truck out in front of the shop and shut it off. About an hour and a half later went back out to start up the truck to go home and nothing. I hit the unlock key on the pad and opened the door but the dome light did not come on. Tried to start the truck and things go crazy. There were blinking lights in the dash, dome light was blinking, and the light under the hood was blinking. There was also a clicking sound that seems to be coming from the Relay 1 under the drivers side dash. I got in and shut the doors and depressed the brake a few times and the blinking stops and the lights come on. I put the key back in and try to start and things go nuts again. When I get things back to normal the battery shows 12.5-13V but when things go nuts it bounces back and forth between 6-10V. I have checked a few different posts here and it looks like it should either be the battery or the PATS system. I am taking my spare key down tonight to check and see if it will work also going to throw another battery in there to check that. Does anyone else have any other ideas for me to check tonight if that doesnt work? Truck has been running like a top for the 3 years I have had it, no previous problems.
Thanks for all the help. Sorry for the long post.
