Truck quit on me?

Yesterday I came home in the old beast and sat for a minute to absorb the a/c then turned it off and then comes today. Went out starts right up but it runs terribly and it dies a second later. I tried to restart, nothing. What would cause it to just die on me. I am getting fuel out of the fuel filter schrader valve like crazy but when I take off an injector line it mearly drips out, the fuel cutoff switch works and so do the glow plugs, I think there is 250,000miles on the IP and the injectors but I wouldn't think the IP would just take a crap on me instantly but I don't know. What do you guys think?

If there is that much mileage on the IP your way overdue for a change...... but do a pressure and flow test of the lift pump. When was the fuel filter last changed. What is the fuel level in the tanks, anywhere near 1/4 full is possibly the filter/pickup screen fallen off in the tank. Fill it to 1/3 minimum and try it again. A known problem.......

Wanna tell us what year your truck is in a signature with all the other pertinent info.. thanks.

Never figured out the sig, it's a 1990 F250 7.3 NA. My fuel tank is at 1/2 tank, fuel filter changed maybe 3 weeks ago. So does the IP let go just like that?

try this before doing anything. remove fuel line going to IP - check flow there. If OK then remove the fuel return line to fuel filter coming from injectors. block off one going to filter have container to catch flow from injector return line. try starting. If no go then continue with IP/fuel tank checks.

Well I had "no go" when I checked it July 4th but today I went out and tried starting it just for nothing else to do and for some reason it started up after 10 seconds of cranking. Now what in the world would cause it to do this?
