Bloomsburg update

I am sorry to inform everyone that this weekend's event has been canceled. This morning in the meetings with the Bloomsburg Fair Board they allowed us to look at the facility and then decide among our team whether we would be able to stage the event. We had full confidence in the ability to do so without tasking any of the resources on the facility, the fairgrounds then agreed to push forward with Special Events. We then publicly released that we would be producing the 19th Annual Toyo Tires 4-Special Events Operations Team successfully cleaned up all debris and safety issues off the fairgrounds, brought in external resources to produce the event, the Bloomsburg Fair Board came to us at 6:45 PM EST to inform the staff that they would not allow the event to take place.

Even though we bring an estimated 5 Million Dollars in Economic Impact to the City of Bloomsburg, they have decided to cancel this weekend's event. We are working on placing the event on a weekend in August in an attempt to replace some of the dollars lost due to this unfortunate late decision by the Bloomsburg Fair Board.

I will be calling each of you individually to discuss how to work through this situation. We understand that you have already made many arrangements for this event, and will take those into consideration when working with you. Special Events is terribly sorry for the late notice and the canceling of the Bloomsburg Show. Feel free to call me with any questions you might have.

Took a ride to Bloomsburg for the day saturday, got there a little later in the day but had a great time anyway. My oldest grandson went with me for the first time, he was enthralled to see Grave Digger. Stopped to say hello to members of another ford truck Pennsylvania Chapter that I belong to, again they had major member participation on the show field. Maybe next year our chapter can be well represented at the Pennsylvania truck shows. Spoke to a guy that works security there that I have gotten to know over the last 5 or 6 years, he was surprised to see me without my mobility scooter. I felt good being able to walk around the grounds without the scooter or a cane, even though I took my cane with me just in case I had any difficulty walking around. The monster trucks races are okay but I prefer the freestyle and the tough truck challange. A poor toyo didn't make one of the jumps and bent his truck. OUCH! My grandson liked the show field, especially the broncos. His mother has a stock 96 bronco that she has beat the crap out of. Now he can bug her to start doing some serious work to it or sell it to pop-pop. Definetly have to work out an identification system for recognizing other members of FTE, walking around like a carnival barker yelling any FTE members here draws strange looks and reaction from security. There is a group of ford truckers from another site that are trying to organize a GTG at the Flight 93 memorial Sept 9th, if anyone is interested in attending post up here and I will let them know that our Pennsylvania Chapter will support them.

Actually Pacer it's a GTG of another Pennsylvania Chapter and also a chance to visit the Flight 93 memorial. I thought it would be a good thing to honor those who took action in the face of crisis and also meet other Ford Truck Enthusiasts from our state. I would probably make it a dual purpose visit, my mother lives in Johnstown so I could visit her at the same time. If you PM me your cell or phone number I will get in touch with you. Hopefully other members of our chapter will want to go. We could probably arrange to double people up to help defray the cost of fuel and tolls.
