Question Edge Pod Mounting

A few weeks ago I purchased/installed the Edge Evolution in my '05 FX4. I mounted the pod to the driver-side dash using the thin white double-sided sticky tape, and the unit looked great with the black pod blending well with the black in the FX4's dash...looks like from the factory. The problem is that after a week or so, the pod is lifting up off the leading edge (nearest window) and I'm having to frequently push down on the pod to re-stick it. It seems that with time the problem is worse. Do others have this problem? Do any of you have solutions you've used to solve? BTW, the Edge unit itself is dynomite and a sweet piece of electronics. Updating programing etc. was a piece of cake.

I guess that makes sense. Somehow I would have thought that the guys at Edge would include high quality tape with the installation 'kit' as the computer itself and the whole concept is 1st rate.

same problem. I have not fixed it yet. I think beyond the tape/velcro not holding, the Florida Sun is a killer. It almost seems like the heat has warped the pod a little. Hopefully some good industrial tape will keep it down. I do not think mine has really ever fit perfect, like some of the pics i have seen. Any other tricks???

Maybe try a small bead of silicone. When it cures it should hold well regardless of temperature differences and is easily removed when needed.

same here, Texas sun is a killer.. no idea how to solve it. I'm not aware of any glue that will work and NOT damage the dash surface (ie allow it to be removable later)..

I ended up useing an industrial velcro that I got from one of my buddies. Now the velcro will stay put but I can take the pod off if I have to. And with this new stuff the adhesive really sticks!! So I don't think it will be coming off anytime soon.
