My Haynes manual doesn't cover this at all, but is there any secret or are there any tricks to removing the window motor and regulator from my son's 93 F150? His drivers window is stuck down and its gonna rain like Charles Dickens soon!
The Chiltons manual I have says you can do it by drilling out 3 little dimples in the door that are directly in front of the motor mounting bolts. BUT.. I ground off the 4 rivets that holds the whole motor/crank assembly to the door and removed it that way.
You'll want to remove the 1/4 window assembly first, then the main window glass before removing the crank assembly.
The 1/4 window assembly has 2 bolts/screws on the front sloped side of the door under the rubber gasket, and 1 bolt in the vertical window track just below the latch.
With it out of the way you should be able to slide the main glass forward off the crank pivot point.
There are 3 plastic rollers inside the window motor gearbox that are likely broken into little pieces. You can find kits for these on-line.
Drill out the dimples to access the bolts with a 1/2 inch drill bit. It takes a 5/16 socket. There is no need to remove any of the glass. Just be careful.
Thanx, guys. Stupid me, After posting this I realized the mtor was probably exactly like the ones in my Continental and Towncar. I rebuilt all of these, some with metal rollers instead pf nylon.
