That would be the icp sensor. That stands for injector control pressure sensor. No there should not be oil in the conector, I would replace it to be safe. There is a lot of pressure behind that sensor and you wouldn't want it start leaking bad in the middle of nowwhere. Hope this helps!
Thats what i was thinking but the drawing i have doesnt show it in the valve cover. Could this this be bad without giving a code or causing an intermittant short, that kinda killls the motor for a splt second, or make it feel like a gasser that is miss-firing.
Are you sure its in the valve cover? Mine is right under the lip of the valve cover but not in it. It should be mounted in the hpo rail. Yes this would cause your probs.It reads pressure in the hpo system and allows the pcm to adjust the injector pressure regulator. If it reads wrong it will not adjust the regulaor properly. It may not set a code if it still reading a signal. Either way as i always say "an ounce of perfention is woth a pound of cure!" So i would get it fixed! Hope this helps Lancer!!
I took another look it is just below the cover. Thanks alot I have been trying to track down an intermittant short symptom in the engine wiring harness for about 2 weeks. Think i'll swap the ICP an see if that is the culprit.
i would replace that ASAP. you don't want that to leak any more if it is leaking. they may have put some dielectric grease in there from the factory, but no oil. if it's engine oil for sure, it needs to be replaced. it probably is the cause of your drivability problems too. ebay has them cheap-\\http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...spagenameZWDVW
