i have a 94 ford bronco and i am having some problems with reverse not wanting to engage sometimes and shifting every once in a while.I read a post online that says a shift correction package would fix this problem. i do not have a problem finding the shift correction package but i cant seem to find anyone who knows how to install one.Im not really worried about installing it i just want to know before i buy it you can install it with the tranny in the truck i dont want to rebulid my tranny at this point considering it still pulls well.If anyone has installed one of the in a e40d please let me know. thnx
The E4OD does lag going into reverse at times. Its not long but longer than I like at times. With a 94 model yours should have all of the factory upgrades unless its early enough in the 94 model year production run to have the older style E4OD. Ford made some serious changes to this tranny sometime in the 93-94 production run. The updates significantly improved shift pattern and longevity in these units. As for a shift kit, I am not 100% certain as to how far into the tranny you need to delve to accomplish the install but I do know that even the best transmission shops raise their eyebrows when they hear they are going to have to work on an E4OD.
