hello I am wondering if my 93 f-150 w/ a 300, mazda 5speed and 3.08 gears could turn 33's, it has 31's on it now and it is pretty high geared feeling.
Another question is if the above doesn't work could i possibly use some gears I have in a parts truck an 86 f150, it appears to have the 8.8 in the back and the 44 up front. I have also put the long axle shaft from the 86 into the 93 and it appears to be the same. I think the 86 has 3.54 gears in it and these should tolerate a set of 33's hopefully.
I hope I can reuse some older gears from my parts truck to save some money and get still get not bad mileage.
4:10 gears would be optimal for 33" tires, but I never had problems turning 33's with the 3:55's in my 95 F-150. I had the 5.0/5spd in mine. I want to say the gears are interchangeable, as I believe both trucks would have the 8.8 rear and HP44 front, but I will let someone who is more knowledgeable answer that question.
