I have reason to believe they started life on a F250/350. The front is a TTB but I think it is the D50 found on 1980's F350, but it might be a D44 found on 1980's F150. the rear I think is a D60. Please help. thanks.
The BOM is that 6 digit number hidden by a cable in one of your pics that begins with a six. The link works for me.
The one hidden by the cable is on the rear axel. The rear is cool with me since its a D60. The front is my issue. Where would the BOM be on the front ? These axles are on a F150 with 39 inch tires. Everyone says a stock D44 TTB + 39 is bad and is going to break. Do you agree are 39 to much for a stock D44 ?

You can still use the BOM on your rear 60 to figure out what it was originally under and original ratio.
39s are way too much for a SA D44 much less a ttb. They will work over the ball joints in short order not to mention stock shafts.
There will be little info there for TTB D44s though. You can look on the door decal and get the axle code to figure out the factory ratio for the original axles also. The BOM will be on a tag or casting and the number will look like the one on your 60.
The D60 rear is plenty for 39's right ? I am thinking about buying this truck and doing a SAS. I was thinking about swapping in a D60 solid axle in the front.
So in the mean time until I get to doing the SAS is the D44 TTB ok enough for the 39's for street use ?
You said the D44 TTB was worth alot of money, how much do you think its worth ?

I was kidding about the D44 being worth a lot. You may be able to sell it whole or as parts and get $150 for the whole thing.
With enough lift, you could run the 39s on the ttb on the street but it will work on those ball joints quickly. As far as the rear goes, 39s would be the upper limit on a D60 and even then I would consider alloy shafts. Is that rear semi or full float?
Do you know the gearing in those axles? It better be at least 4.56 with 39s.

Its got I think 8 inches of lift and the 39's are already on it. I am not sure of the ratio but its got a 429 out of a 1970's Tbird in it and its got plenty of power to get it moving. It smokes the tires with no trouble.
Wow 39's are th upper limit of a D60 ? I am learning a lot about axles here.
Whats bigger then a D60 besides a rockwell ?
The rear is not a full float. I am sure what a semi float is.

D60 is great for the Front and they aren't necasarily bad for the rear. Bigger axles for the rear would be Dana 70 (these came in Fords), Sterling 10.25 full float version (came in Fords), and 14-bolt rears (*cough*came in chevies/gms*cough*). If you went 40 or larger with the tires you would want one of these axles in the rear and a d60 up front.
If you can get a good price on that truck, go for it since it already has the 429 swap. You could do a 60 sas front and be good to go.
Rockwells and M-M axles are huge!
What is the BOM of that rear. I can't read it from the pic because of the brake line in the way. The 429 helps a lot to make up for gear ratio deficiency!!!
