EMERGENCY LIGHT('70)
Hey guys,STOCKMAN, whoever,
Does anybody know how to get the above mentioned light out of dash?
It is on the dash to the left of key switch above emer.brake.
I would like to make it work again and have masked around it for painting. But still would like to get it out.
Does it screw out?
A plastic type clip is holding it in it looks like but won't budge.
THanks for any help,

Reach up behind there, hold the face against the dash and push toward the dash on the light socket in the back while twisting. I can't recall which way, but that's how it comes out and it won't take much force. This light says "brake" on my 67.

That "brake" light is to detect a brake system failure. If either the front or rear hydraulic systems fail then there is a switch in the pressure differential valve which is thrown. This light sometimes will start "working" after the brakes are bled. The switch needs to be centered or else it will cause the light to stay on even though the brake system is otherwise properly working.
