DOVE 460 block ?

DOVE 460 block ?
I have a 460/429 block with a DOVE cast in the passenger side. To my knowledge this is a 1970 casting?? Does any one know for sure, I have heard to much controversy about ford using same casting numbers into the 80's. Is there any other way to tell or a different # i should look at?

Drop the pan and check the mains, you may have a 4 bolt block. I have two D0VE blocks and 1 is the 4 bolt thick web block and the other is the 2 bolt thick web block, no way to tell unless you drop the pan. These blocks are hard to find and were used mainly in the 429 CJ and SCJ Torino's and Mustangs.

It is a 2 Bolt main block. It would be nice to have the 4 bolt but I am adding a D.S.S main support system anyway. They claim to make the 2 bolt block stronger than the 4 bolt so I guess well see...
