aod transfer case question
Hey all,
a quick question: will an np 208 transfer case bolt up to an aod transmission? Would there be any major modifications needed to install said aod tranny into a 1980 f-150 4x4? Theres a 302 w/a c-6 in the truck now.

If the NP 208 is the six bolt pattern, it ought to bolt up - not 100% sure. For the AOD, you need to get an adapter to run a Throttle Valve linkage from your carburator to the transmission. Also, you need to make sure the flexplates are compatible with the torque convertor bolt pattern. The flexplate for an original 80' 302 has the older 28 inch/ounce imbalance. I think there is a 351 flexplate that works for mating an AOD to a pre '82 302.
