power steering problem

power steering problem
i just finished rebuilding my 79 400 motor, i bought a new steering box and i have it installed, today i had it running and i had no power steering. any ideas whats wrong here??

Possibly air in the PS system. With the engine running you are supposed to turn the steering wheel from lock to lock a couple of times to remove the air from the system. I will be reinstalling my motor and replacing my PS hoses at the same time in the near future. My 77 truck also has a PS oil cooler on it that has quite a bit of volume to it, so when I fill the PS system, I plan on leaving the highest fitting loose as I fill the system to expel most of the air before I close her up. I will then do the procedure I wrote above to remove the remaining air from the PS system.
