I have a 92 Aerostar XL short version. I want to convert the rear seating to high backs. Been looking around in the wrecking yards and found a couple of vans with the high backs still in them. The problem is the seat belt configuration. In my van the belts connect to the bench seat in two places. In the vans with high back buckets the belts connect to the floor in one position and then to the seat in another position. Is there a conversion for switching to bucket high backs? Also, for the life of me I could not figure out how to get the bucket seat detached from the vans at the wreckers. I bought the van without a users manual.

Just go for an earlier year donor. I put captains in the second row on my 91 and they have the seatbelt attached to the seat.....don't know what year they came from....

I haven't found anything that matches my vehicle. I assumed that the captains seats were only available later after 1992. I'll keep looking. Thanks for the info, at least now I know they are out there somewhere.
There is a handle that you pull up underneath each of the rear captains chairs to remove them. As for the seat belts, I don't know as they came in my van.

I was lucky, I moved all the seats from my 90 Eddie Bauer into my 91.....I was then able to find the complete set (Captains, and rear bench) from another Eddie Bauer in the same color on Ebay....and like I said, the seatbelts are integral to the seat. BTW, I looked back at the eBay listing, and the listing said the seats were from a 93.
