Engine??????

I was woundering if there was any way to tell the differents into between 215 and a 223?

The 215 is the early version of the 223. The main difference visually is the exhaust manifold of the 215 is straight at the very end, while 223 has a bend in it. Ford I believe used the 215 in the 1952 and 53 trucks. 1954 into early 1960s had the 223.
You might try the Panel man he has alot of knowledge on these, maybe pictures in one of his postings.

Also if my Memory serves me correctly on a 215 the distributor sat further back toward the firewall than it did on the 223.
