Hey guyes I just got off the phone with Troy AKA Kennedyford, and he is really stranded in the water. Unlike my truck that can sit because it is not my main transportational vehicle. Troy uses his truck as his job and he has been working on his rig for the past three weeks now. Anyway it has turned for the worst and he needs a tripple converter. Does BTS sell them seperate without the tranny combo and if so how mutch. We could even drive to California and pick it up. Is there any other local companys here on the west coast that we could get one from. I am off the next three days so I can help him take his new tranny out that is giving him problems and put in a brand new stock tranny with the new converter that he will need.
Hey KWIK he is at home with no hopes right now. I definately know the feeling. Ok Kurt is I think his uncle and has been taking great care of him. Anyway his new tranny is throwing all sorts of codes and he needs to get back on the road but does not want to blow his tranny up and get stranded in the process. So his uncle is giving him a brand new stock tranny but needs to get a new torque converter, to slap in it as a temporary fix.
My question is cant we just find him a stock torque converter to go with the bone stock tranny so that he can go back to work. Then he can get the right torque converter and get the bugs worked out of his hopped up tranny. See he is just like all of us strapped for money and ccant buy two converters so I can understand not wanting to buy a stock torque converter then having to go out and buy the right torque converter that you need for your set up. How mutch is a stock converter?

We live in phoenix az. How mutch do those tripple disk converters cost? That is what he said his truck had to have to pull these trailers that he pulls on these long huals. But if he is putting in this stock tranny in a pinch so that he can go back to work, cant we just put in a stock converter till we can get his other set up fixed with the right set up?
Honestly, IMO it's better to stick a beefier transmission in there than a stocker for his situation. I fully understand the lack of funds, however.
These codes that are happening, is the wiring harness ok on the truck? No chafing anywhere?
Are all the battery connectors clean and bright metal?
These electronically controlled machines rely on good clean power supply to operate correctly.
I need to hit the sack now, but will check back in the morning.
Ahhh didnt think I would be online huh? Current codes now. Replace solinoid pack and as of today this is what I got from Kurt. He is the owner of this cottmans thats all, no relation just a friend. Thank you Robert
237----turbo boost sensor circuit
475----ex pres control valve--mine I plugged it back in the other day
541----my AIH disconnected
GRANDADDIE______------od 741----torque convertersystem pressure stuck.
Here are my codes exactly
P0237 Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
P0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off
What do these have in common? to cause my problem? Wiring harnes?
If you are in Pheonix, you could try KB Transmission in Mesa. He rebuilds a lot of those 4r100's and keeps triple disc convertors in stock. When I took my truck to him to have the tranny rebuilt I had it back in 2 days complete with the triple disc. I believe also that Mesa Driveshaft may have them as they rebuild torque convertors. Good luck on it anyhow.

It would be worth the effort to investigate the wiring. Even to the point of looking inside the shift column to make sure the wiring in there is ok as well.
I'll say a prayer for you before I begin work today. I have had God save my butt on too many occations to count after I gave up trying myself and asked for His help.
Good morning KWIK, Do you want us to check for splices and loose conn, and go through with the multi-meter.
That's what I would do, follow every inch of the wiring harness. Look for visible areas of chafing and deal with it accordingly.
And make sure you check inside the shift column. The wiring in there has a reputation for shorting out against the frame. If so, that (hopefully) is the entire cause of the trouble.
I also want to remind everyone that I don't work on Fords for a living so I cannot offer anything more than general information. If someone with more experience than I could please chime in here we would all very much appreciate it.
