Size Matters

I an looking to transplant a Ford V-6 and automatic transmission into a Samurai I built for my son. The little 1.3 that is in it never was big enough and has recently started knocking and blowing oil. My question is where can I find the dimentions for Ford engines and trans? With a body lift and a SOA suspension the hole is 30" W X 46" L X 28" H. These dimentions are about the maximum and would be a tight fit. Any one know where to find this information?

Sounds like an interesting swap.

There seems to be plenty of info out there on V8 external dimensions, but not much on the V6. What I can do is measure the 2.9 with A4LD I have sitting in my yard that came out of my Ranger just to get you in the ballpark, the 2.6, 2.8 and 4.0 would be similar. The A4LD auto is longer than a C4, how much, I don't recall. Let me know if this would work for you.
