You know how old the head of chisels will mushroom from heavy use, I found that if you hit one hard enough, a fragment can breakoff and lodge in your finger deep enough that a Doctor has to remove it. Since that time, I make sure to grind off the rolled edges before using them.

Gee, my comment was meant as more of a warning to others who may not be aware that they’re more hazards to consider when using something as simple as a hammer/chisel than just mashing a finger. You know...more like a public service announcement!

Now if I really wanted to turn this into the scene from the movie "Jaws", where they're sitting around showing off their scars, I know I would have to do better.

and NEVER use a carpenter's hammer to hit a steel tool with! The proper hammer to use is a ball peen or hand maul (short handled small sledgehammer).
AND ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION!!!!
