Does anyone know what is done to the 3 Valve V10 that gives the F series trucks 362 hp and the E series Vans 306 hp? I have a 2006 Class C with the V10 and would like the extra torque and hp is it can be done.
3 valve parts are many and very costly. heads, valve covers intake manifold. vac. plumbing, exhaust manifolds , cam shafts, pcm. and alot more. drive it the way it is.
The general consensus is that to get more power from the 2-valve, upgrading to the 3-valve can't be done without lots of money and time.
The generally accepted way of getting more power from the 2-valve motor is a supercharger. With minimal boost, it should easily surpass what the 3-valve would get you. Whether or not you want to put a blower on a motorhome is a different story
OH, and WELCOME to FTE! You came to the right place for V10 info
Let me take numbers & engine designs out of this and answer the basic question.
Vans are depowered via the PCM. They get a different code written for their engines. Two reasons: 1. the intake is somewhat more restrictive & 2. the cannot dissapate the heat as well as the trucks due to the smaller engine compartment.
