"The forgotten years" is how a fellow FTE member bills them on his web site. There is no question that other years have taken a higher billing in years past. However, as the younger generations come into their own, these years will continue to get the "due" they deserve. These years aren't being overlooked entirely; that's obvious from the support and parts availability from various vendors.
As for the lack of attention in the mags, that's not entirely their fault. We should be submitting story ideas and seeking write-ups about our trucks. Stu Varner, a fellow FTE member had his 1971 F100 4wd featured in a mag back in 1998, I believe. I don't recall the exact publication, but it was a national mag. So point being, we all need to promote our trucks if we expect to see them in the mags.

You are right in some aspect's but i do feel stongly about this.I did reg. my truck with your site.GUESSFORD.you should know that name. I do see alot of these trucks roaming the roads here in DE. so they are still out there.

I feel just like yoursef. But SM is right, people have to get them out of the graves and sheds, and yards and build them ,restore them and get them out there to see.I love them and my first trucks was a 72 SprtCustom F2504x2,Camper Special,390,C-6.It moved on to other trucks and my buddy of a truck i have now.A 70 F250 4x4 Sport Custom.I have a 351W in it,4spd,D-24 case,Danas.
I am re-doing it as of now.And these trucks get alot of attention when your on the road but alot of folks aint into them .Nothin a Chevy guy hates worse than "oleblue" roamin the roads and pullin them out.I miss those daysWIll be done soon though.

I have had that name for this truck for 7 years.
If you notice my handle is "ole" blue instead of old.A friend named that truck for me when i bought it years ago but when it was refered to,it was the oleblue truck or my oleblue truck cause my other FOrd is Tan.
But yeah that name is everywhere.

Hey,your ol' lady would be right!
My truck is not finished yet. That pic you seen is basically what it looks like as of right now exept that it is really ready for paint.I have replaced everything exept the cab.I have done all work and shot the final coat of urethane sealer and i have a good friend who shoots at a Ford dealer will shoot the blue/white base/clear urethane for me.He is real good to.I dont want to do the paint on this one!It will be a '97 Ford Blue Metallic, and white. It is a Sport Custom and will have all the trim back on it.I have bought parts from all over the country through the net and met some good people too.
Here is a pic when it was altogether 3years ago.
