I am planning on converting my truck from 2wd to 4wd and I am sure about installing the transfer case. I read the tech article on here but I still have some questions. My transmission is a 4spd. with overdrive, what ever model that is. I don't know if I have to swap the output shaft or not. IP am not sure if it is a slip yoke or not. If you have done this Or have some knowledge on the topic please give me some input.
thanx
Some information about your truck would be helpful.
As far as manual transmissions go, you need a new one if you want the tcase to bolt to it. Automatics are the only ones you can swap tailshafts in, and you have to do a lot of disassemlby to do it.
If you want to know whether it's a slip yoke or not, well, just crawl under there and look at it.
