I need a new cupholder! The one that slides out of the dash below the radio. Mine slides OUT of the dash. All the way. No good. Searching turned up zip, and I'm reluctant to pay dealer price for a hunk o' plastic. I'm considering calling the junkyards but don't expect much from them. Any suggestions?
check out accessories, under cup holder, its perfect for a 1999. fits right into the seat. great price for what you get.....it's the best mod I bought.......

I got mine from http://www.powerstrokeshop.com .... got it to replace the early 2000 cup launcher. Much cheaper than the dealer.
You can also do exactly what jake00 suggested. When I got mine, the ones selling on ebay were more than from powerstrokeshop, and discountfordparts wasn't a site sponsor at the time.
Thanks for the replies y'all. I'm still in a bit of a quandary though, since none of those places seem to show the correct part. I am planning to make a center console, so eventually I won't need it, except to fill in the hole in the dash.
I even pulled the dang thing out (that's the problem, it comes right out!) and entered the 'part number' on the bottom. No dice.
I think I'm just going to take the tan front part off the cupholder assembly and glue it permanently into the opening. That or engineer a whole new slide-out tray. Then build a real center console with 'manly' cupholders.
I have real mixed feeling about all these flip-up, fold-out, gee-whizzy cupholder contraptions. They seem handy at first, but they get grunged up pretty fast, and they're too flimsy to last very long. I've designed hundreds of plastic parts, for both consumer and industrial applications, and these cupholders are pretty much bottom-rung quality. I'm not picking on Fords either: we all know how crappy cupholders are across all marques.
Thanks for the info, and for the opportunity to vent.
Do a search for this part number. YC3Z-2513560-CAD CAD is for the gray style, CAB is parchement, and CAF is prairie tan. Looks like they are 41.70 from 1stfordparts.
Thanks for the part numbers, but check this out: the graphite one is $41.70 like you said. The parchment one is $41.70 also. The prairie tan one is $96.26!!!
I guess I should just call them and find out what the deal is, but jeez that's annoying.
I took some modeling glue and a piece of scrap plastic from my boys B-17 and glued a tiny piece on the end where the original stop broke off. I had to bevel it a bit with a knife so future removal is possible.
And it has worked great since!
I have a tan one out of a 2000 excursion illsellyaif you want, nothing wrongjust took it out to put in the 2001 andnewer style. let me know what you want to pay.
When I bought my 99 the dash cup holder was toast!! get online to these guys and let yer fingers do the dialing!! Most are 800 numbers ! Mine in grey was from a 2000 model much better design! Was like $25 shipped
