I have a fully loaded 1994 F-150 XLT extended cab 4X4 with the 5.8l V8 and less than 140k. She's a strong truck, pretty clean, crazy two-tone green and white paint, new tires on 15X10 aluminum wheels (also has stockers) and a bed liner will be in it in a week. Only problem she has is one of the sensors on the throttle body (or associated with it) is going screwy and throwing the CEL periodically. She's been a really good truck for me but I just don't use her often enough to keep her. Here's a rough description:
Okay...this truck usually goes between $4500 and $5500 with similar miles...
Fully loaded 1994 Ford F150 XLT
Long bed
Supercab
Power everything
Clean interior
8/10 exterior
New tires
8 wheels included (15X10 and 15X7 stockers)
5.8l V8
4 wheel drive (push button operated)
Dual tanks
Bedliner (going on this week sometime)
CD player
cushy *** bucket seats
super cold a/c
cruise
tilt wheel
...and so. Everything a fully loaded truck should have.
Only problem is her idle control (so says the folks at our ford dealership)...it's fouled up and I don't know how to fix it. Throws the check engine light intermittently. Drives and handles great aside that. I've only really used her twice the last few years (other than just moving her around) and both time it was to tote a bike to Houston to ride with my brother (1800 miles round trip). So essentially she just sits.
I've been asking $4500...but I've been trying to trade it off for a Suzuki GS500F (I need one in my shop for test fitment) and I want to make sure I'm not trying to get the better end of a deal...trying to ask low enough that it's worth it to an owner of the bike I need to feel it;s an aqequate trade.
Sounds like a fair price, considering that a potential buyer is going to have to sink a couple hundred bucks (at a shop, anyway) into it to fix the idle problem.
kbb.com also has fair market values for used vehicles.
yeah but kbb is such a crappy guide...it ad NADA are based on reported sales prices and sooooo many people buy a $5k vehicle and tell the DMV they only paid $1k...makes it hard to judge what they say.
I wish I could get it fixed locally but the dealers here are all a bunch of incompetant *****...
A lot also depends on your location. I just saw what sounds similar to yours, xlt, power everything, including the rear slider, with a 6" lift and 35's go for 3900. I just looked at one today with a rebuilt engine/trans, but the body and interior needs attention, going for 2500.
hutch1973 is so right, i live in florida but travel to the northeast alot. in florida a truck that i cant sell for 500 dollars sells in ohio for example for 3000. nada and kbb ask for the zip code when you get a value but if you compare they can differ thousands on each car.go to traderonline.com and search for trucks like yours for sale locally and get a better answer to what your market is paying
I've been trying to find an old 67-72 bumpside, but can't find anything locally. I search online and about cry when I see what they are gonig for out west or down south. Such is life.
