I am just curious what happens to the left over 2005 Excursions that are unsold in the dealer lots. Do they send them back to the Ford Truck Plants? The reason I am asking this is because i am thinking about replacing my gasoline SUV for a diesel excursion.
best of my knowledge there are no diesel leftovers jsut the big gas sucking v-10's
you little v8 only get 1-2 mpg better than the v10 and from the v8's i drove feels like it cant get out of there own way! some of us will take offense to the coment "big gas sucking v10" i am real happy with mine. back to the ? there are still a few around if you have ford do a search for you but as stated above somewhere only v8's and maybe a v10 or so mostly 2wd v8's. look at auto trader . com lots of ones with low miles out there, price is way better as well
I dont tow so im happy with the 5.4 and im not in a hurry to get anywhere.
that said i wanted a diesel but they were about 2x the price and I had heard some scary thigns about the 6.0 .. of course then i get the 5.4 and hear scary thigns about that too
They don't go back to Ford. Vehicles are a one way trip from the maker. Some do go to auctions, and others simply wait for a buyer. Eventually, they all sell.
As far as "gas sucking V10s" are concerned...I too did not want a diesel. Friends have 5.4l F250s and their gas mileage is no better than mine, with a heavier Excursion.
When you are searching for your leftover X don't limit yourself to "New" in your search engine. Mine was an "Executive Return" with 2000 miles. Because of that it never came up as new, I had to employee "used" in my search.
A Diesel Limited with everything, it was and is worth it.
