Brake Lights
In December i bought a 2001 F-150 Supercrew. Just a couple months ago the brake lights started to act up. Once in a while they do not light up when the brake pedal is pushed. But then the next morning they will work fine. The only thing that i could think of that would be wrong would be a loose wire or something somewhere. Other than that it is a good truck. If someone has had the same problem please reply to this thread so i can get this problem fixed once and for all. Thanks fordtruckman 07

It's probably the brake light switch located just behind the pedal arm. It's a pretty common item to fail on these trucks. I don't remember the cost but it was pretty cheap when I replaced mine, pretty easy too.

check ground do you have a pigtail for a trailer? I had a 96 raaanger that hat light problems step on the breakes and the turn signal would come on hit a bump, and everything went back to normal. a week later same thin. I opened the rubber boot that protects the plug, green powder everywhere so i disconnected it and everything was fine after that. just might be something worth looking into

You might want to see if the switch needs its sensitivity adjusted at the pedal. If it is the type of switch that the sensitivity can be adjusted at the pedal. Otherwise investigate what has already been suggested to look at.
