engine question

hi i have a question about an engine, i have a 1990 f-150, it has the 302 5.0 efi motor, im curious is this the same motor that came in the mustang 5.0s? or is it different any help would be great the truck is totaled but the drive train is in great shape so im trying to figure out somthing to do with it lol.

The engine might be similar, but probably not the same. The difference would most likely be in the cam, heads, and possibly the tranny and rear-end gearing. All these things can be switched to make it basically the same if you are so inclined.

A 1990 mustang would have hydraulic roller lifters, and so would be a little more potent of a performer.

the cam and lifters is the only difference. both stang and truck 5.0's used the same heads E7's
