Hood won't open
Gentlemen and some ladies,
I have a stuck hood that will not open...the user manual says to open the center dowl but i cannot even do that...what is the best way to open my hood without destroying it!!!! Its original and a pain in the neck....going for the tilt type after i get it open...HELP!!!!!HELP!!!!!HELP!!!!!HELP!!!!!HELP!!! !!

I had the same problem on my '56 when fitting the hood. I was able to get a screwdriver in behind the grill vertically and unscrew the latch post on the hood. I didn't take it all the way off, just enough to get some wiggle room and then pulled the handle while twisting the hood away from the catch. Not an easy or quick process but it worked for me.
