'68 to '72 power steering conversion

Greetings:

We have a '68 F-100 2WD that we want to convert to power steering. We found a power steering assembly and pump from a '72 F-250 2WD. Can we use the '72 parts on our '68?
Anyone know of any modifications that must be made or is it simply a bolt-on application? An advanced thanks for any help.

dude make sure ya get all the brakets and spacers and the bolts from the parts truck.its a staight forward swap in.but the brackets should be off the same motor ie; size 352 360 390,289 302 351w 351c, 351m 400m,429 460.as your motor is in your truck. good luck man and have fun.

You are going to want to grab the steering collumn also because yours will be too long. I would also keep the steering wheel from the 68 because I looks better (bigger though).

Hi, I ran into trouble once when changing from 3/4 ton to 1/2 ton with the pitman arm being different size just make sure you get all the parts from the 250 before you start. John
