Question 2.3 transmission

The 5 speed transmission in my 93 just died and I was wanting to find out if a trans from a ranger with a 2.9 v6 would fit behind my 2.3.
Thanks in advance, Emmitt

No, the bolt pattern is different.

EDIT - Let me rephrase that. If you have the Mazda 5sp (1 piece housing), then No since the 2.9L came with the Mitsubishi 5sp (2 piece housing). If you had a 4x4, or a 4x2 w/ the fake transfer case + the Mitsu 2 piece trans, then you could keep your bell housing and swap for the rear section from the 2.9L. You can get a rebuilt one on eBay from a place called ManTrans for ~$500-750 1yr/unlimited mile warranty. I have one I ordered around 2yrs ago and it is doing fine.
