If glow plugs effect fuel milage in any way shape or form it is news to me. You have other problems. I also get in the mid 20's for highway mileage and way better than your highway around town. There are peeps here that are a lot better at this stuff than me. It depresses' me to hear of members getting such sorry milage from really great power plants that are capable of so much more.

I don't know, I have two PSD's and they never did get into the 20's. Of the personal contact I have had over the years with people concerning fuel mileage, when preassured I found out they really wanted to believe they could get that good but in fact couldn't. There is a artical in the new diesel world mag. about mixing and stacking electronic's. I have had no problems or lack of power. Some times it would have been nice so I wouldn't have to explain to the wife why it broke. Another thing I have learned about power is speedo calibration. If you have changed tires your feeding the PCM faulse data for fuel delivery. The mileage and performance can both be affected by the speedo. On the HPOP, oil level is taken care of internally. You can add oil but it will just go into the pan. You can put a gauge on the heads and see what you get. Low pressure will effect power and mileage but there is usually some smoke from unatomized fuel due to the low injection pressure. I have have the fuel and oil pressure turned up and can only praise this mod. Also removing the air from the fuel. Less smoke, less noise and more power. AARRRHH-AARRRHH
