I am currently replacing the exhaust manifold gaskets on my 1970 360V8. I have removed the exhaust manifolds before and had them planed at a machine shop because of prior leakage. Lasted a couple of years. I've noticed copper and copper embossed exhaust manifold gaskets are listed in some catalogs. Will they last longer than standard FELPRO gaskets. Are they a cure for a leaking exhaust. I'm open for any suggestions.
Rick the copper gaskets that I used with my FE headers from Summit Racing are supposed to be reuseable. If you have an extra $35.00 you might want to give them a try. Other wise get a good set of gaskets and the heat shields, should put you in good shape.

This topic has been discussed on several occasions in the past, you might want to search the archives. FE exhaust manifolds came from the factory gasketless. If you've had your manifolds milled, why do you want to install gaskets that can fail?
I don’t know if you want to call it a gasket or not but the Fe’s came from the factory with metal heat shields to help keep from cooking the spark plug boots. The shields had an embossed lip around the ports to promote sealing, similar to steel shim head gaskets.
Thanks for the help everyone. I did find out that AutoZone carries a replacement for the original FE heat shields for $14. I think I may give this a try.
