Hopefully someone here can help as the trans shop locally has had me spend money but not fixed the problem yet. I have a 94 Ford Lightning with some mods. I had a used tranny in the truck because the trans that was supposedly built for the truck had a broken shaft. The used tranny worked OK but slipped under any type of load. I brought the other trans to the local tranny shop who said except for the broken shaft the inside of the trans looked brand new, so all they did was replace the shaft and install the trans. Right away I ran into a problem. If the truck sits for more than a hour when you put it in gear nothing happens. You have to give it gas and then after a minute or two it will begin to creep and then finally after a block or so work normally. It will continue to work normally until it sits for more than an hour. The shop who did the work has done this so far:
Checked fluid levels hot and cold to make sure fluid wasn't draining from the converter.
Had me change the converter. Has a PI 2600 stall converter now.
Changed the accumulator body. Said the one in the trans was for a newer model.
Nothing has worked and by now my clutches have got to be going bad with as much slipping it does at start up. Any ideas would be appreciated. There are NO codes whatsoever.
