Hey guys,
My AC is having a hard time keeping up in this 98 degree heat. I looked for the service ports and found a green and a black. The green one had a tag that said "evap service port, regulated 1 psi only" If this is the low side port, how do you regulate the gas to 1 psi? I've charged many systems but have never seen this.
Thanks for the help in advance.
The low side is tucked under a bunch of "stuff" near the back of the engine on the passenger side while the high side is located in plain sight near the front of the engine on the passenger side....at least they are on my '00.
The green one is on the driver's side near the firewall. It is the information on the tag I have questions about.
That is the service/test port for the evaporative emissions system. That's exactly what the tag says it is. DON'T SCREW WITH IT since since you don't know what it is and you're working on the A/C system.
Look for the low side port on the evaporator can on the passenger side. On my 97, it is on the side and points right at cylinders 1 & 2. Remove the plactic cover over the maxifuse/starter relay block for better visability.
