"Super Duty" windshield decal?

"Super Duty" windshield decal?
Is the "Super Duty" display that goes across the top of the windshield a decal, or is it etched or burned into the glass?
Also, Im guessing that 2003 is the first year for that, correct? My 2003 F250 had the windshiled design, but my 2002 F250 does not.......

i think they started it in 2003. our 04 has it, the 06 and 07 both have it. it is the same material as the rest of the dots among the top of the windshield. i believe it helps make the sun less offending to your eye.

Maybe the 99 mentioned above got a later- year replacement windshield?
Or maybe the windshield of mine was replaced by the previous owner, and the replacement did not have it..........

Mike...you're makin' me think. The '99 I spoke of was owned by one friend of mien and now by another friend. The guy that bought it first got an '05 last September...maybe I am thinking of his '05.
FWIW, the '99 is somewhere around 260,000, the '05 is aruond 40,000. Man gets around.
