I am working on interior of my 1970 F250 and I know this sounds dumb, but I cannot get the window crank handel off, I have pryed until the point I thought it would break. I cannot locate a screw or set screw, that would hold it onto shaft. I am trying not to break it. Can anyone adise on best way to remove this simple handle. Thanks, and excuse the dumb question. This is my first Ford truck.
Hi, it sounds like you have a spring clip to remove, and there is a special tool for this. it slides right between the handle and the door. most auto parts places should have this (I think), or Snap-on@ will have it. good luck....
LAST EDITED ON 12-May-01 AT 04:55 PM (EST)[p]I have the same truck as you do and on my window crank, I have a single screw in the center of the crank hub. It looks like there may have been a plug or sticker that covered the screw at one time. I would think that a spring clip would break if you were prying on it. Especially when it's 31 years old! Good Luck. Bill
