I just talked to the parts dept. at Ford for injector prices and they have a different part number for the #8 injector and it is $40.00 more. Has anyone else heard of this? I have never seen any threads on it here before.
P.S. they are really high on their prices even going through my fathers garage and getting %20 off
They used a different injector in # 8 to try and make the engine quieter. As for obtaining stock parts, chcek with an International Truck dealer, Alliant Power, Ebay or do an internet search for injectors. I would not buy them from Ford at their prices.
The long lead injector in the 00 and 01 trucks is a split shot injector. Your OBS trucks already have a full flow return and have no need for a different injector in the #8 hole.
I think the parts guy was quoting you a part from the wrong year.

That could be, he also thought that $12.00 was a lot of money for a set of injector o-rings for all 8 injectors? I informed him that that was for 1 injector.
Ended up buying o ring sets from Southwest Diesel for $7.24 per set
And IPR seal kit for $11.04
Cheaper than anything I found on E-Bay
