Jake- that's the whole point. He couldn't overdraw- bank will just decline a purchase or return a check unpaid. This whole thing reminds me of reason 453 why I use cash though (green stuff).
oh ya- noooo problem. Just came across this a few days ago at the local Safeway. There had been a wreck a little ways up the road, and demolished a phone switching station thingie. Net result- no phones, no computers. And there is one..... count 'em one person standing in line with cash ready to check out.
Why not just get bank card for interact purchases ?
around this area of the world ,Cheque Cashing Privilege Cards went out in the mid-80's.
Very few businesses accept cheques anymore, that's why they got interact machines.
No more dealing with NSF cheques and trying to recover the money their lost.
Yeah, i got one coming now, its got a stupid limit on it, but oh well. my college does alot of business with TCF bank, like even my student ID card has a swipe strip on the back of it thats tied to a TCF account. THe only problem is i dont want to rely on TCF checks. I know there's alot of places that will accept checks, just not TCF checks. at TCF you can get everything free, its just so big i dont really like it. Thats why we picked this smaller bank. I"ve also heard alot of bad things about TCF mixing up money and mis charging things. Heck, when i had my accound opened up there, i put in $1 to open it, (then later put in another 50, figuring i'd never use it) and i got my statement, and i was down to like 45$, they charged me for my checks (get free checks as a student!) Its just stuff like that that worries me about them. But i think all is well now. Got my dumb piece of plastic.
