upholstery update

To answer a couple of questions posed to me on a previous thread..

Backing material used is luan paneling.

custom door handles are constructed with plywood frame, and shaped with sculpting foam hollowed out where needed. The door pull is re-inforced with a sheet metal "L" shaped piece screwed directly to the door.

When the glass was damaged, he was cutting a hole for the electric window connectors to pass through.

Any other questions? just ask.

Wayne, thanx for the info. I keep mulling over which material to use for the door panel backing material. Others have suggested the ABS plastic panels and velcro and others have used wood. From what I can see so far, it looks like the main advantage to using the plastic (at least on our truck doors) is that it allows the use of the velcro tabs and does not require holes to be drilled. I really do not want to drill any holes in my doors which is what I'd have to so if I used wood (please somebody tell me that is wrong). How did you attach your door panels? I have heard of Auveco clips but don't know for sure what they are.
Again, thanx for the info Wayne. And your truck looks GREAT!
