I had a 2001 F-250 that had no converter, but a co-worker of mine has a 2000 WITH one. I'm guessing his truck is a California emissions truck, but did Ford start putting cats on all of their 7.3 trucks? If so, what year? I'm looking for a replacement truck, and I would like to avoid the converter if at all possible. Thanks...
holy crap, your truck was STOLEN? damn that is horrible, i feel for you, and ironic how it is on my dad's birthday. i went to court that day. that is horrible, hope you get it back
anyway to the thread- i dont think there WAS a year that ALL of the trucks had cat's on them. my 2002 didn't, but im sure that all of the CA emissions trucks had cats on them since 1995.
Thanks for the info Strokin. The insurance company now owns the truck. They declared it an unrecovered total loss, and I signed it over to them on May 30th. I'll find what I'm looking for eventually, it's just been a real pain so far
I don't know which ones had cats and which ones didn't. My brother has a 97 (cat), 99 (cat), 99 1/2(no cat), 00 (no cat), and a couple others I don't know about. My '00 had no cat. The new 5-inch exhaust doesn't either.

How bad was the truck, or are you saying it was NOT RECOVERED, i am confused
Hope you can find a sweet 2002, early 03 and still get a 7.3

No, it was not recovered. My insurance company's policy on theft is that if it's not recovered by three weeks after the date the truck was reported stolen, it is declared a total loss that was not recovered. I'm looking at a 2002 tonight, hopefully this will be the one!
