leaf spring widths

ive got an early 77 highboy. i did a shackle flip a few days ago and while doing it i noticed that the rear leaf springs are around 2 1/4 inches wide where as the front leafs are 3 inches wide. is this normal? i have a 79 250 and it has 3 inches in the back. i was going to swap the shackles as the ones from the 79 would give me even more lift but they wont match up with the 2 1/4 leafs and the leafs on the 79 look as if they dont have as much of an arch to them.

Highboys ended in 77.5 so your 79s springs won't have the same arch as the highboy's.
Also, if I remember right, I want to say highboys have about 2.25"-2.5" leafs, but hopfully someone can give you a 100% answer on that one.
