I just bought my truck and it only has 39k on it it is a 2003 f250 fx4 7.3 and the inside lights will not go off. i think it has killed my 2 batteries. also i think my allternator is dead. i put a volt meter to the batteries when the truck is running and it says 12.6 but when i cut it off the truck will not start help please
I just had that problem happen to me last week. I started pulling fuses and they still would'nt turn off, radio also would stay on. I took it right to the dealer the same day. They could'nt figure it out right away, and called Ford tech. It turned out to be the intrument panel, and it was'nt cheap to fix.
Did you find anything yet? I'm guessing the 03's don't have the battery saver circuits.
Is it just the lights that stay on, or is the door ajar light/chime (and radio) always on as well?
If it's just the lights, and you have kids, check the dial that adjusts the brightness of the dash lights. Kids like to go through all the switches if you leave them in there too long unsupervised.
the lights stay on all the time even 20 mins after the doors have been shut and the truck is locked, weve played with all the switchs and done all the manuels troubleshooting parts, the radio and gauges dont seem to be affected except from the alternator being bad
Part was $281 , labor $312. Thankfully we had an extended warranty,I only paid $198.00.
I also have a 2003 F-250 7.3L FX4 s/c 40,000 miles Hope this helps.

What were your symtoms? I have tryed grounding all of the switches and the key in bell only chimes if the door is closed. I have already replaced the security module.
