To all the guys with headers. I 'd like to know if you still get the dreaded flutter with your headers. I did the y-pipe conversion(Stan's headers y-pipe) and I get a good bit of flutter from this. It comes and goes though. Sometimes it's bad sometimes not so bad. Thanks guys,

check out this thread it will help last few posts are better yet brett found some super good headers with a xover pipe in the kit
what better y pipe is availabile for the v10
I saw that post. I'm gonna try to find out what the prices are on the DT headers. Doug Thorley has always made some really good power/torque making headers and the design is really cool. Hope there not too expensive.
good luck and please let us know what you find out
brett found them and made me go back in time many years with just the name is always used them many many moons ago myself
The Doug Thorley headers are available thru Summit Racing. P/N DTE-218Y or just search by engine model. They sell for $648.39 and are listed for all 99-04 V10's. I don't like the fact that they're chrome but other than that they look good. With a little bit of luck I'll be able to let you guys know soon!!
You want to get the Thorley headers with the ceramic coating. The are made of mild steel and not stainless so I would go the extra $$ and get the coating. They are coated inside and out. I found them on a site or 2 for around $800+- Add a {C} to the part number for the coated one's.
According to Summit, they will fit 2wd and 4wd, F250 or F350. I haven't located the coated one's yet but I've got a friend that owns a coating shop so, I'm gonna handle it myself.
That's good that they finally clarified that. I called summit and Jegs and DT a couple years ago to find out if they'd fit, and all 3 times I could here them looking up the part number and then telling me 4x2. I seriosly doubt it if they changed the design, but I wasn't about to risk the hassle of returning them just in case they didn't fit for some reason.
That's my goal, but realistically it's probably gonna be fall till I get them. I will be sure and post the info and pics when I get them. I like the idea of the tri-y for torque. I'm gonna have my buddy blast and coat them black. I'll keep ya posted!!
