Do the odometers on a 1992 F250 read all six digits like for example, (120000) or are the like the 90 where there only read 5 numbers. Saw a 1992 on the web at a lot in minnesota that said it only has 54,000 miles on it but the drivers seat already show wear. Just curious.
Thanks
also some people i have heard of take the fuse out for dome light and all the other accessories out that will turn the odometer off.... but it also turns the speedometer off
There is a guy here in San diego who sell old government trucks (painted forest green). He talks all about how his trucks are such low mileage but its only because they have been used by people like park rangers. The low mileage is most likely because they have never been on the freeway, only driven around in first gear by some gov. employee. They do show a lot of wear and tear (such as worn seats and interior), I dont think Id trust one. If you could ask the dealer where they got it, they can usually give you a vauge answer.
Well, from the picture it looks good on the outside but it does have a plow on it. Maybe that's why the seat is worn getting in and out but still i wouldn't think theres that much where. My 1990 does'nt show that much where and that has a plow but it also has 160000 miles on it. I could see if was a farm truck or something because i get in and out quite a bit checking fields or if i'm out cutting firewood or something. Were heading that way on thurs maybe i'll stop and take a look at it if the wife will let me.
Kind of what i thought. it's a reg cab too. Depends how much there willing to go down on it. Said theywould give me a good deal. I'll see on thursday. Is that seat wear normal for 54000 miles?
I think the price is high. This truck has been worked hard with a plow. It has seen a fair amount of snow and road salt. I wouldnt touch it unless you are into working on it and have a good look underneath. I guess the edge of the seat could get worn like that if the person really liked to slide in and out with some heavy coverals on.Check the frame where the plow is connected for cracks and other damage.
Yes, he said it does have some rust. That's why i don't buy anything just looking at it on the net. I have to see it and inspect it over. maybe it was just for a private drive or something. But it is for sale buy the twin cities so i'm guessing they probaly did some comercial work. Who knows. I'll let you know what i find out. I have to get my POS running first before i can sell it. I would assume buy a truck with out a plow and put the plow i have on it. Once again my old man was right. Plows are hard on trucks depending on the operator.
